HOW CANDLES ARE MADE

All candles are hand made and therefore unique piece of art.

All candles are produced and hand sculptured in South Australia.

We are a family owned and run business.

Candles are created from base out of fine paraffin wax, pure cotton wick and special glaze for beautiful glossy finish. Being an art form as much as they are functional, only the highest quality raw materials are used - as such the colorants are guaranteed not to fade or discolour.

Candles are beautifully hand sculptured through crafting techniquesand processes of dipping, cutting, carving and twisting the wax into stunning shape.

All our candles are made from scratch.

High quality paraffin wax is melted in our custom-made double boiler for wax.

* A centre core candle is made in our custom designed and made moulds. Our dip and carve hand crafted candles are made by carefully lowering the core candle into tub with very special hot pre-coloured waxes.

* Candle is dipped repeatedly up to 40 times into different wax colours which are carefully chosen and designed. The candle is slowly built up layer upon layer. The colour sequence and timing are very important to ensure the uniform high quality and harmony of colours.

* Once the candle has been fully dipped the candle is ready to be shaped. While the candle is still warm from the dipping process, it is carved using tools and artistic expertise. The carving must be finished in approximately 15 minutes or the wax will become too cool and hard to carve.

Candle is hand sculptured, cut, curled, twisted and shaped to show the beautiful layers of colours underneath. This is accomplished using special tools and talented expressive but gentle fingers. This process requires fine skill, attention to detail, swiftness and precision. The wax is cut, twisted and sculpted into beautiful intricate patterns. Each hand-carved design is uniquely different, has a little bit of personal element and tells a story.

* Candle is then immersed into specially prepared protective glaze for additional gloss and long lasting beauty.

Candle dries for about 2-3 hours and is ready to be lit and enjoyed
